Roses are pink and fuschia,too.

I created this website to chronicle my life as an Overseas Filipino Wife (OFW). I am still finding my way to reestablishing a career in a foreign country. I used to work for one of the largest telecom companies in the Philippines for 15 years, but then after so many years of “seemingly” unanswered prayers, I took a leap of faith and decided to join my husband abroad with our son. Although life has not always been a bed full of roses, right now I am living my dream of having a complete family.

I studied Print Journalism in college but I never really got to pursue it. I was given the chance to rekindle my writing skills when I landed my first job in Dubai as a Corporate Communications Specialist. I was in charge of writing business correspondence and revamping the company’s website. Later, I was tasked to write marketing content for the company including articles about recently concluded business events. AI definitely helped me come up with creative ideas since the job demanded multiple writing tasks with varying degrees of urgency.

I take inspiration that I can “write” from a dear friend who I haven’t seen since we graduated from college. We have kept in touch through the years and she would time and again, praise my written storytelling skills. To prove that she is a far better than writer than me (her extensive vocabulary is astounding) she described me as “effervescent” even before that became a popular form of supplements nowadays.

This one’s for you, C. Thank you for always believing in me.
